Workshops

We believe that mental health is an integral part of overall wellbeing. At Aura, we recognise the impact of loneliness on mental health. Meeting with others can help people to feel less alone and more able to cope with everyday challenges.

Our workshops are designed to create a safe and inclusive space for people to learn, grow, and build relationships with others.

The workshops we hold are not necessarily about the ‘activity’, but about bringing people together and encouraging social interaction – helping to improve mental wellbeing and supporting people in living a fulfilling life.

Wellbeing workshops

We hold a range of workshops throughout the year.  Our workshops are designed to improve wellbeing, which could be by building confidence through learning a new skill, exploring creativity, practicing self-care techniques, building meaningful connections, and reducing feelings of loneliness.

Our workshops can help you to:

Build relationships

  • Fight loneliness
  • Develop new skills
  • Practice self-care
  • Boost self esteem
  • Share experiences

Our workshops foster a supportive atmosphere where people can connect with others who may be experiencing similar challenges.  The sessions are designed to be engaging and interactive, encouraging people to share stories and ideas, build meaningful connections, and create a sense of belonging – all of which can help to combat loneliness.

We hold one off workshops, as well as sessions over a number of weeks.

Example workshops

Some of the workshops we’ve held in the past include:

  • Wreath Making.  A local florist provided a wreath making session, teaching people how to make and decorate a door wreath.  This was a great session for people to explore their creativity, learn a new skill, and chat to other people.
  • Self-Care.  A local salon kindly donated their services to provide an evening of self-care for people.  The evening brought together a group of mums who could chat about their experiences and share challenges with people in similar situations, whilst taking time out to look after themselves.
  • Mindfulness.  Drop in regular mindfulness sessions for people to come together, build relationships, and practice mindfulness techniques.  These workshops gave people a safe space to explore emotions, engage with others, and develop techniques to help with mental wellbeing.

Free and accessible

We firmly believe that everyone deserves access to mental health resources and support.  We aim to make our workshops accessible to all, regardless of their financial situation or background.  Where possible, our workshops will be provided free of charge or for a nominal fee.
